My Story: from a waiter to a founder

Apple's A20 Pro Chip and AI Siri Come to iPhone 18 Pro, Starting at Rs 1,64,900

Apple just dropped the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, and these aren't your typical annual refresh. The new flagships pack the A20 Pro chip, a massive jump in camera tech, and a serious focus on on-device artificial intelligence. If you've been eyeing Apple's premium lineup, here's what you're actually getting for your money.

The big hardware story is the A20 Pro processor, built on a brand new 2-nanometre manufacturing process. This thing is designed to handle way more AI tasks directly on your phone instead of sending data to the cloud, which Apple's pushing hard as a privacy win. They've also overhauled the cooling system so the phone can maintain peak performance during heavy workloads without throttling. In India, the iPhone 18 Pro starts at Rs 1,64,900, while the Pro Max kicks off at Rs 1,79,900, which represents a Rs 15,000 premium between the two.

Photography is the other major upgrade here. The Pro models get a new 48-megapixel main camera with variable aperture, plus enhanced professional controls and better low-light performance. Apple's also introduced something called Apple Reference Image, a system that helps verify whether a photo was actually captured on your iPhone or created or modified using AI. That's a big deal in a world where synthetic images are getting harder to spot.

Apple's reimagined Siri is now more deeply integrated with your apps and runs more intelligence locally on the device. The company's positioning these phones as personal AI devices, not just premium smartphones. Globally, the iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,199 and the Pro Max at $1,299, both representing a $100 jump from last year's generation. It's clear Apple's betting big that people will pay more for on-device AI and camera smarts.
