The big headline is Jovi, a new AI agent that can juggle tasks across your phone and computer in ways that actually sound useful. Imagine asking Jovi to grab a spreadsheet from your home PC, pull out the key numbers, and send them straight to your phone. Or having it handle your weekly reports automatically. That's the kind of stuff people have been waiting for.
On the performance side, Vivo's built this update from the ground up to stay snappy even after six years of heavy use. The new Origin Smooth Engine handles graphics, memory, and system resources smarter, with a feature called Ultra-Core Computing that shifts power where you need it most. The numbers are solid too, opening apps 10 per cent faster and switching between pages 11 per cent quicker. Vivo even claims a 72-month lab test showed the phone feeling as responsive on day six as it did on day one.
Multitasking gets a real bump with Origin Workbench, which lets you run up to five apps side-by-side in a single workspace. That means you can export video, check notes, and reply to messages all at once without constantly flipping between screens. Memory management got overhauled too, freeing up to 25GB of extra storage on a 256GB device, and animations now feel way more natural with features like Fluid Motion and Spring Animation.
Cross-device connectivity is another win here. Your Apple Watch can now pair up to show notifications and sync health data, AirPods connect instantly with battery details, and there's spatial audio support. Through Vivo Office Kit, you can drag files between your phone, iPad, Mac, or Windows computer, plus access iCloud files directly from your phone's file manager. It's the kind of ecosystem play Apple's been doing for years, and Vivo's catching up.
Snap Note is a practical addition too, turning photos of whiteboards, handwritten notes, or slides into clean, editable documents. And because it's AI doing the work, Vivo's added transparency features where every action is logged and shown to you, with major steps needing your approval first. The OriginOS 7 preview starts rolling out September 21 on the Vivo X300 Pro and select iQOO devices in India, Thailand, and Malaysia, with more devices like the X500 and Fold series coming later.
