Vivo's about to shake up India's mid-range camera phone space. The company's been teasing the V80 and early reports suggest it's launching in the first week of October, with October 6 being floated as a likely date. This isn't just another refresh either, it's looking like a serious contender for people who care about photography without breaking the bank.

The camera setup is where things get interesting. You're looking at a ZEISS-tuned triple rear camera featuring a 50MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide, and a 50MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. On the front, there's a 50MP autofocus selfie camera that should nail portrait shots. Vivo's also throwing in AI Creative Camera tools with over 30effects to mess around with, so you'll have plenty of ways to get creative with your shots.

Beyond cameras, the V80 brings some solid everyday specs to the table. It'll run a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and up to 6,000 nits of peak brightness, which means scrolling and gaming should feel buttery smooth. Under the hood sits the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset paired with a 7,200mAh battery that supports 90W charging. You're also getting IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance, plus Android 17-based OriginOS 7.

As for pricing, Vivo hasn't made it official yet, but leaks point to a launch price somewhere between Rs 55,000 and Rs 60,000. That range puts it right in the sweet spot for people looking for flagship camera features without flagship prices. If these specs and pricing hold up, the V80 could easily become one of the best mid-range phones you can grab in India right now.
